The yellow paint is all ready and done, now the difficult part starts, painting the red and blue stripes according to official measurements and regulations.
If I am making this room in the colorscheme like an ambulance, better do it the right way as well ;) The stripes are in a 40 degree angle and the length is being determined by the measurements of the vehicle it is put on. ..... ok... a problem here, no vehicle but a flat floor.....
I decided on dividing the room in pieces, and divide the with evenly in 4 parts, so that's 74 cm as division line for the two segments red and blue.
The drawing plan was adjusted to resemble a real striping even better. check this link which I used as an example to aline the red stripe as starting point on the right from which the other stripes are being alligned. A new drawing plan was made and looks like this
So first part this time, is making 40 degree angles and instead of the 12centimeter wide stripes I decided on 15centimeter stripes for a better perspective in this large room. Exact measurements and making pencil lines for the tape to be put on the ground.
I need 5 complete red stripes in full length, and what is left in the corner can be filled up with stripes shortened in lenght by the limits in space surrounding them just like on that link above. The tape is not entirely fullproof as it is not a straight line from one point to another, so making more reference points along the way will help guide the tape in one straight line
best plan I could come up with to avoid making two runs again like with the yellow, first make a thick layer with a paintbrush, thereafter smooth it out with the roller
This worked very well, so all the stripes were done this way
After all the stripes have been done, time to remove the tape and see if they really did their job or still left some paint through underneath.
Except for some tiny red run-overs (on the joining of the wooden plates) the striping looks very straight and as it should be.
Coming from the hallway, it looks like this as if it were the lower part (without the blue above) of an ambulance
The white dot you are seeing there is the reflection of the ceiling light ';) can't wait to draw up the blue lines tomorrow night!! and here a view from the other side from within the room
